I absolutely love the look of shabby chic decor and coordinating shabby chic bedding. If you don’t really know what shabby chic decorating refers to then this a great place to start. Shabby chic decorating means the art of decorating mixing old with new yet in light feminine colors. Mixing roses and stripes in shades of pink along with weathered or aged white furniture and a bit of lace and crochet touches will compliment any choice of fabulous shabby chic bedding.

It doesn’t take much to create a shabby chic bedroom. In fact I have done so myself. I started with a brown rustic looking hardwood floor and added white shaggy rugs beside the bed on either side. I choose white IKEA bedroom furniture, although I would have preferred an antique set in a white finish that I could weather a little more myself but I was on a budget. I then found a duvet cover with roses on one side and stripes on the other and a matching set of shabby chic bedding. The color of the walls is a light pink to compliment the pink in the bedspread. I then choose some shabby chic bedside table lamps that are white wood and have pretty floral lampshades with crystals and bead trim. I hung a crystal chandelier rather than going with a traditional scone light fixture.

Creating a shabby chic interior is not difficult at all. A lot of the time it’s the accessories and items that are used to decorate the room. In my own room I choose silver, crystal and mirrored items to arrange on my dresser. Antique perfume bottles and silver picture frames really compliment the shabby chic look. Throw in some chenille throws and lace trimmed pillows and my bed is a shabby chic dream. Shabby chic bedding is becoming more and more popular therefore you no longer have to search for very long to find some great buys.  I have picked out some of my favorites that I found on Amazon below.
